Tools, limits and help
Gambling is entertainment that costs money. It is not income, not an investment, and not a way out of a financial problem. This page sets out the controls available to you, how to recognise when play has stopped being enjoyable, and where to get free confidential help.
19+. You must be physically located in Ontario to play. Please play responsibly.
Gambling is entertainment that costs money, not a way to earn it. Set your limits before you start, and use only money you can afford to lose.

Who can play
You must be 19 years of age or older and physically located in Ontario every time you play for real money. Both conditions are checked, and both must hold at the moment of play, not merely at registration. Residency is not the test: an Ontario resident sitting in another province cannot play, and a visitor who is physically in Ontario and old enough can.
Deposit limits
A deposit limit caps how much money you can move into your account over a period. You choose the period: 24 hours, 7 days or one month. You are asked to set one during registration, before you have played anything.
A deposit that would breach the limit is declined, not trimmed to fit. Tightening a limit takes effect immediately. Relaxing or removing one takes effect only after a 24-hour cooling-off period, and you can cancel the change at any point before it applies. This is the single most useful control on the site, because it acts before the money is in play.
Spending limits
A loss limit caps how much you can lose over 24 hours, 7 days or one month. Where a deposit limit governs what goes in, a loss limit governs what the session is allowed to cost you. When the limit is reached, real-money play stops for the rest of that period.
Loss limits follow the same rule as deposit limits: tighter applies at once, looser waits 24 hours.
Time limits and reality checks
A time limit caps how long you can be in session over a period. When it is reached, play stops until the period rolls over.
A reality check is a reminder that interrupts play at an interval you choose — 15, 30, 60 or 120 minutes — and tells you how long you have been playing. It exists because time passes strangely during play, and an interruption is often enough to make a decision that would otherwise be deferred.
Take a break
A break is a short pause of 1, 7 or 30 days. For that period you cannot deposit or play. Your account stays open, your balance stays where it is, and access returns on its own when the break ends. Use it when you want to step back without making a longer commitment.
Self-exclusion
Self-exclusion blocks you from this site for a term you choose: 6 months, 1 year or 5 years. During the term you cannot sign in, deposit, play or open a new account, and you will not receive marketing from us.
Self-exclusion cannot be shortened or cancelled once it is active. That is the entire point of the instrument. A commitment you can undo in the moment you most want to undo it is not a commitment, so we do not offer one.
BetGuard: excluding from every Ontario site at once
Self-excluding here blocks this site only. If you want to stop gambling online altogether, BetGuard is Ontario's centralized self-exclusion service. One registration excludes you from every regulated online gambling site in the province, including this one.
- Registration takes about five minutes and is available in English and French.
- You need government-issued identification, but you do not need an existing gambling account.
- Terms are six months, one year, five years, or a custom period.
- A term can be extended, but it cannot be shortened or cancelled once it starts.
- While it is active, every regulated operator must deny you access and stop marketing to you.
Account closure
You can ask us to close your account at any time, from your account settings or by emailing support@casinodraftkings.com. We settle any remaining balance, subject to verification, and confirm the closure to you.
Closure is not the same as self-exclusion. A closed account can be reopened, and closing an account here does not stop you gambling elsewhere. If what you want is to be blocked, use self-exclusion or BetGuard instead.
Signs of problem gambling
Problem gambling rarely announces itself. These are the patterns most commonly reported by people who later sought help:
- Gambling with money meant for rent, bills, food or debt repayment.
- Borrowing money, selling possessions or taking credit in order to gamble.
- Playing longer or for more than you intended, repeatedly.
- Returning another day specifically to win back what you lost, known as chasing.
- Lying to family, friends or colleagues about how much you gamble or lose.
- Feeling restless, irritable or anxious when you try to cut down or stop.
- Gambling to escape stress, low mood, loneliness or boredom.
- Losing interest in work, study, relationships or activities you used to enjoy.
- Relief or excitement at the thought of gambling that nothing else produces.
If several of these are familiar, that is worth taking seriously. It does not mean anything is wrong with you, and help is free, confidential and effective.
Preventing access by minors
Nobody under 19 may hold an account or play. We verify date of birth against identity documents, and an account that fails that check is closed.
If children have access to your device, please also:
- Never let anyone under 19 use your account, watch you play, or know your password.
- Sign out fully rather than closing the tab, especially on a shared computer.
- Do not save your password or payment details in a shared browser profile.
- Use your operating system's family controls, or filtering software such as Net Nanny or Qustodio, to block gambling sites on shared devices.
- Keep payment cards and banking apps out of reach.
Our marketing is not designed to appeal to people under 19, and we do not use imagery, characters or themes aimed at children.
